Cleaning tools for your greasy gadgets.
BY NEAL P. CORPUS
Have you wiped down your laptop recently? You probably know this by now, but it’s got more grime than you think. Your phone, too.
And with a lot of us spending more time with our gadgets on online meetings (and admit it, shopping), it’s really easy for the grease and germs from our hands to build up on these electronic surfaces, in turn transferring them back to your mitts. And you touch your face and eat with those hands?!
Not to make you into a germaphobe, but if there were any time to be extra careful about the microscopic things that get onto your hands, and eventually to your face, it’s now.
Gadgets that stay mostly in your home like laptops aren’t as high-risk as say, your phone, but then again — that grease buildup! Here are some gadget-cleaning products you can pick up on your next errand run at your favorite Ayala Malls:
1. The base
The first thing you’re going to need on this gadget-cleansing journey is a microfiber cloth. You might some laying around the house, but if you don’t, a quick trip to a True Value or Ace Hardware should do the trick.
It should make the initial and concluding wipe-downs a lot easier, but make sure you have two: one for spraying your cleaning solution on and another one for drying.

2. The standard
A standard screen-cleaning solution seems like dime a dozen, but they are surprisingly hard to find at just any computer store.
This Uniso LCD Screen Cleaning Kit comes with its own handy microfiber cloth, and apart from your laptop screen, it can be used on camera lenses, TVs, and more.

3. The on-the-go
We touch and hold our phones an endless amount of times each day, which is why it’s important to keep it disinfected periodically, especially when we’re out running errands.
Disinfecting wipes like these from Clorox are generally safe to use on gadgets (plus most phones nowadays have some sort of water resistance rating), but if you want to be extra cautious, bring an extra microfiber cloth to wipe down the moisture after disinfecting.
4. The pocket wipe
If you don’t have space for even a small pack of wipes for when you’re on the go, then this should fit the bill. Bench’s Alcogel Clean Machines gadget wipes come individually packed in small sachets for maximum efficiency (and sanitation).

5. The double purpose
If you’re the type of person that only buys things that are multipurpose, a cleaning solution for eyeglasses works just as well for gadgets in combating grime and smudges.
The Sunnies Specs Optical Care Kit comes with a small spritzer of cleaning solution, a cleaning cloth, and some small tools all packed in a cute tubular container.
