It’s World Vegetarian Day—place your order for these delicious glow foods.

When we were kids and mom used to say “eat your veggies,” it seemed like the hardest thing in the world to do. Thankfully, most people grow out of their aversion to vegetables and find that it’s one of the most satisfying parts of a meal, whether eaten as an entrée or just as a side.

For those who have never grown out of it, we’re lucky to be living at a time where vegetables and non-meat food are transformed into delicious dishes and nutritious meat alternatives.

Whether it’s because of your love for the environment, health reasons, or religious beliefs, going vegetarian is always a good idea, especially in this new world where preserving our health is the most important concern.

Today on World Vegetarian Day, we collected three great-tasting vegetarian dishes from different Ayala Malls. Choose from the list and have one vegetarian meal today—or a day. Who knows, it might open up a world of dishes you never knew you loved and a level of health you never thought you could achieve.

Falafel Fix

There are many people who are certified meat lovers but will lap up a falafel in seconds when given the opportunity. These chickpea or bean patties add a depth of flavor to their traditional meat variant, but are hearty and filling just the same.

We recommend Medley Modern Meditteranean’s Falafel Crunch Power Bowl, a hefty combination of falafel, hummus, an assortment of grains and greens, and pita. It’s a protein-packed dish we love eating after fitness classes in the area.

It’s Not Meat

“Wait, so are you saying there’s no meat in here?” is a common expression heard after someone’s first bite of Sweet Ecstacy’s Beyond X Burger. Sweet Ecstacy is known for their soft and juicy meat burgers, so creating a meat alternative burger was a feat no one saw coming.

However, the geniuses at Sweet X have proven their mettle once again and produced a treasure of a burger that uses ground “beef” from Beyond Meat, one of the best meat-alternative brands in the world. Now, burgers can be had, well, beyond your rare cheat meal.

No animals were harmed in the making of this burger—the cheese is vegan, too!

Visit Sweet Ecstacy at Ayala Malls the 30th.

Taste of India

40 percent of Indians do not eat meat, and those who do only eat it sparingly, which is why Indian cuisine is one of the most vegetarian-friendly cuisines in the world.

Though Filipino and Indian cuisines rarely cross paths, Filipinos can relate to the Indians’ love for flavor and spice—which is why this Paneer Butter Masala is a dream to have available in Manila. Blocks of paneer (cottage cheese) drowning in a buttery tomato and cashew sauce is a treat to have with roti or rice.
