A drink for dadScroll Down
Learn how to mix the perfect drink for your dad this Father’s Day weekend.
Ever wanted to learn how to make a proper cocktail? Well, this Father’s Day might just be the perfect opportunity. Many a dad are known to enjoy a fine cocktail from time to time, and mixing one that’s just right will make for a thoughtful gift. Plus, you can enjoy it together!
Now, the next step is actually making it. Some cocktails are literally as simple as mixing two liquids together, but some can be more intricate than cooking a steak dinner. Lucky for you, Guava Sketches has just the thing this weekend: a cocktail making workshop right at the Greenbelt 3 park!
Made possible in partnership with the restaurant Toyo, Guava Sketches’ workshop will teach you how to concoct delicious craft cocktails. There are sessions on both June 19 and 20, but hurry — slots are limited!
The fee for each slot is P6,840, and comes with the ingredients (of course), along with a complete mixologist kit that includes a set of three cocktail glasses from House Doctor (which are also available at Guava Sketches). The kit also comes with some bites to eat from Toyo, which will give you an idea on how to pair the cocktails with food.
Now, if cocktail mixing simply isn’t your thing, don’t fret. We’ve come prepared! You can give your dad the gift of a boozy Father’s Day afternoon from these Ayala Malls spots:
If you’re looking for ready-to-pour cocktails of the classic variety, 205 in Serendra is your best bet. For P990, you get a kit with three cocktails of your choice, all bottled up and accompanied with their respective garnishes. Plus, they include a QR code for a playlist that fits your drink choices!
Like 205, Single Origin also serves up pre-made cocktails for your pouring convenience. They’ve got classics like Gin & Tonic, and more juicy options such as the Jungle Jerry (Sailor Jerry rum, ginger ale, pineapple juice, Campari, and lime), Sir William Soda (gin, grapefruit, grenadine, lemon, and soda water), and more.
For the dads that like their drinks straight up, Lit is the answer for you. They’ve got a great selection of Suntory’s whiskeys of the pure malt, single malt, and blended varieties, such as the Yamazaki, Nikka Taketsuru, Hibiki, and more. To dress it up into a high ball, simply mix with soda water, et voila!
