Liven up your 2021 with products in the shades of Pantone’s Color of the Year.
Now that the flurry of New Year’s celebrations have settled down, it’s the perfect time to take a breath, set some goals, and look into the year ahead.
It’s also the perfect time to fill your life with Pantone’s Color of the Year, which are Ultimate Gray and Illuminating for 2021. Just like what many of us wish for in the coming months, these two colors represent a marriage of positivity and fortitude.
“Practical and rock solid but at the same time warming and optimistic, this is a color combination that gives us resilience and hope,” says Pantone’s executive director Leatrice Eiseman on their website.
And now that the world is beginning to re-open and some are going back to their offices, picking up a thing or two in these shades will serve as a nice reminder to keep our heads and spirits high.
Looking for things in Pantone’s exact shades is practically impossible (read: too much of a hassle), so we’ve put together a shopping guide inspired by the two colors instead because really, at the end of the day, it’s the thought that counts.
Airism bed sheets from Uniqlo
Our days begin and end in one place: the bed. What better way to imbibe Ultimate Gray than to sleep in it? And with Uniqlo’s signature Airism fabric to keep you cool as we near the summer months, you’ll be sleeping with peace of mind.
Jordan 23 Engineered hoodie from Nike
Whether you’re still going to be working from home or going back to the office, a comfy hoodie is always a must. And with a bright yellow shade, it’s sure to liven up your day no matter how gloomy. Plus, what better inspiration to #JustDoIt than from Michael Jordan himself?
Jersey knit room shoes from Muji
If you’ve been walking around your home in the same old tsinelas since you were a teenager, well, it’s time to upgrade. Muji’s room shoes come with a soft padding, and made with materials that are warm and soft to the touch.
Shimmertint in Yellow Diamond from Colourette Cosmetics
Wanna level up your Zoom presence? Colourette Cosmetics’ Shimmertint is your answer. It’s a long-wearing, multi-use liquid highlighter that you can either mix into your foundation, dab on top of make-up, or simply wear by itself for a natural glow.
Hydroflask from The Travel Club
There’s nothing more satisfying than having a cold drink of water after sitting on your desk for hours. There’s lots of insulated tumblers out there, but something about this Hydroflask in Stone is just so calming, don’t you think?
Cylindrical bucket bag from Charles & Keith
There isn’t really a practical reason for this recommendation for this bag apart from how cute it is. Take it to the grocery, take it on a picnic, maybe even on a bike ride. Plus, doesn’t it remind you of a bucket of taho?
House Doctor folding chair from Guava Sketches
If you’ve caught the redecorating bug but live in a small space, this one’s for you. Guava Sketches stocks many beautiful (and tempting) things for your home, but if what you need is a chair that can be stored when not in use, this House Doctor folding chair might just be the one.
Hanky towel from Bench
Fess up: how many times have you wiped your hands on your pants because you didn’t have a hand towel handy? If you’ve been waiting for a sign to get one, well, this is it. Bench offers a wide array of towels in different sizes and colors, but this hanky towel in yellow is a piece of sunshine in your pocket.
